Encuentro en el piornal
Una de las especies más díficiles de observar en las laderas de Sierra Nevada durante el día: la liebre ibérica (Lepus granatensis). No es, sin embargo, una especie muy rara, como así indica su aparición en la dieta del águila real o cuando aparece momentáneamente delante de las luces de los vehículos que circulan de noche por piornales e incluso robledales. Sobrepasa los 3.200 m de altitud, como así pude comprobar a finales del siglo pasado casi en la misma cumbre del Mulhacén. One of the most difficult species to observe on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada during the day: the Iberian hare (Lepus granatensis). It is not, however, a very rare species, as its appearance in the diet of the golden eagle indicates or when it appears momentarily in front of the headlights of vehicles that circulate at night through broom and even oak forests. It exceeds 3,200 m of altitude, as I was able to verify at the end of the last century almost at the very summit of Mulhacén.
