Piquituerto de altura
El piquituerto (Loxia curvirostra) es una especie frecuente en los pinares de la Sierra, concretamente en los de pino carrasco (Pinus halepensis), laricio (Pinus nigra subsp. salzmannii) y silvestre (Pinus sylvestris). Asciende por los monocultivos de los pinares de alta montaña (incluyendo posiblemente pero de manera puntual al pino negro, Pinus uncinata) incluso por encima del límite natural del bosque (más arriba de los 2.000 m de altitud aproximadamente). Sin embargo, esta fotografía es un inesperado documento de la especie, ya que supera los 2.500 m de altitud (Peñones de San Francisco, río Monachil). Sería interesante conocer como el Cambio Climático puede estar afectando a este especie (agosto 2022).The crossbill (Loxia curvirostra) is a frequent species in the pine forests of the Sierra, specifically in those of Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis), Laricio (Pinus nigra subsp. salzmannii) and wild (Pinus sylvestris).
