El jabalí (Sus scrofa) es una especie que recolonizó Sierra Nevada a partir de los últimos años del siglo pasado (final de los años 70), siendo actualmente una plaga en numerosas localidades. La bibliografía indica de su existencia en el siglo XVIII, como así hace constar Fernandez-Navarrete (1732) en su obra "Cielo y suelo granadino", aunque ya posteriormente en el siglo XIX no se tiene constancia de su presencia en parte alguna del macizo. The wild boar (Sus scrofa) is a species that recolonized the Sierra Nevada from the end of the last century (end of the 70s), being currently a pest in many localities. The bibliography indicates its existence in the eighteenth century, as Fernandez-Navarrete (1732) states in his work "Sky and ground from Granada", although later in the nineteenth century there is no evidence of its presence in any part of the massif.
