El topillo nival (Chionomys nivalis) es una especie relicta de las glaciaciones en el sur de la Península Ibérica. Se trata de una de las muchas joyas faunísticas de este incomparable macizo de Andalucía, un punto caliente de biodiversidad en todo el Mediterráneo occidental, una auténtica isla de biodiversidad. La imagen nos muestra el momento de la ingesta de un opilión (arácnido), posiblemente Roeweritta carpentieri (especie orófila exclusiva de Sierra Nevada). The snow vole (Chionomys nivalis) is a relict species from the glaciations in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. It is one of the many fauna jewels of this incomparable Andalusian massif, a biodiversity hotspot in the entire western Mediterranean, a true island of biodiversity. The image shows us the moment of the ingestion of an opilion (arachnid), possibly Roeweritta carpentieri (exclusive orophilic species of Sierra Nevada). San Juan Valley, 2,800 m (September 2020).
