Gorrión chillón

El gorrión chillón (Petronia petronia) alcanza en Sierra Nevada altas e insospechadas cotas, ya que en los últimos años las citas de esta especie han ido ascendiendo progresivamente en altitud, hasta alcanzar como nidificante los remontes de la estación de esquí (Monachil), a 3.000 sobre el nivel del mar (*). En la imagen, en una pequeña pradera próxima al Canal de la Espartera (abril 2019).
The rock sparrow (Petronia petronia) reaches high and unsuspected heights in the Sierra Nevada, since in recent years the records of this species have progressively increased in altitude, reaching the ski lifts of the ski resort (Monachil) as a nesting site, at 3,000 above sea level (*).
